REAL Wedding Trend – Vintage

Vintage weddings are all about embracing the glamour and grace of a bygone era. They are also a fantastic way to make your big day more sustainable and personal by including family heirlooms and repurposed pieces. We're rounded up some of our favourite vintage wedding details for you...

Dresses

Vintage dresses from the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s can easily be tailored to suit your shape and style. Katy and Steph of fab little business Flamingo Bridal love nothing more than finding something old and forgotten and restoring it to its former glory, or even transforming it into something completely new and unique.

Tableware

Nothing sets off a vintage wedding like some retro cups and saucers and champagne glasses. There are plenty of companies who loan out beautiful vintage table and glassware at very reasonable prices. We love Miss Betsey who cover the South East and Vintage Tea Party in the North East, featured in Amy & Craig’s Boho Outdoor REAL Wedding.

Flowers

Vintage vases or repurposed ladders filled with flowers are the perfect centrepiece or decor for a vintage wedding – check out these beauties.

Rings

Antique wedding bands and vintage engagement rings are gorgeous, unique and timeless. Check out The Antique Jewellery Company for a beautiful selection of vintage rings including these 3 Art Deco beauties.

Transport

There is a lot of choice when it comes to vintage transport, but we love a VW campervan or a vintage Bentley or Rolls Royce. This company has a vintage VW campervan called Rosie who can take you to your wedding and also doubles as a photobooth!

Hair and Makeup

Recent REAL bride Ffion had her hair and makeup done in vintage pin-up style for her Autumnal wedding. She worked with The Little Hairmaid and Pin Up Curl to create her gorgeous vintage wedding hairstyle and makeup.

Food & Drink

A vintage ice-cream cart is a great way to add a vintage twist to your food. REAL bride Laura had one at her vintage wedding at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

Decor

Old suitcases make a perfect place to leave cards and vintage bicycles with baskets are gorgeous when filled with flowers, perfectly demonstrated by Laura and Ed below. Why not make a lovely display to honour (great) grandparents at the cake table with a vintage cake stand, champagne saucers, photos and wedding dress.
