Real Wedding Trend – Handmade Wedding Dresses

Handmade wedding dresses are a sure-fire way to inject individuality into your wedding. Whether you're after something subtle or in-your-face spikes and chains, you can have the dress of your dreams and it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Would you consider making your own wedding dress or using a seamstress to create something totally unique? These brides did just that and the results are stunning.

Heavy Metal

REAL bride Laura went for a dress made by Blackburn-based dressmakers Legend Bridal Designs and made a bold statement with spikes and chains. These individual dressmakers are perfect for Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings fans.

We love myth and folklore, and those ancient tales inspire our designs. Our gowns are named after goddesses and deities, celestial beings and immortals as our dream is helping you feel like a Goddess on your wedding day.

Tall Girl Problems

Hannah made her own dress as she couldn’t find anything on the high street that suited her unique style or fitted her tall frame. The floaty blue silk and lace edging is just gorgeous and if you’re able to, this is a very budget-friendly option – Hannah only spent £54 making it! Check out the rest of this alternative budget-friendly REAL Wedding (which only cost £2K in total!!) for more inspiration.

Beachy Keen

This off-the-shouder beauty was handmade by REAL bride Sarah. We love the two-piece which shows a hint of midriff overlaid with floaty lace. We also love that Sarah wore these kick-ass platform boots and frilly ankle socks with it!

All Tied Up

Eimear wore a dress with an intricate and unique lace-up back designed by Anais Anette. The delicate lace design adds a quirky touch without being too in your face, and the front shows a hint of Eimear’s fun personality!

Dip-dye Perfection

REAL bride Natalie chose a blue dipped-hem beauty by alternative wedding dressmaker Lucy Can’t Dance. Her Brighton Music Hall wedding was a riot of colour and fun and this handmade boho wedding dress was the perfect finishing touch.
