A great way to add a bit of a festival wedding vibe to your celebrations is to hire a glitter artist. We spoke to Steph from Shine London, a collective of luxury glitter artists about all things glitter and what to bear in mind when hiring a glitter bar for your wedding…
Why did you start your business?
I’ve always had a passion for creativity since leaving school and been good with hands-on tasks. I started glitter painting and creating glitter art with a friend of mine at local events and the party just got started! Shine London focuses on luxury glitter art, festival looks and wedding entertainment – we can bring the glitz to you! I love experimenting with new themes, colours and materials (feathers are a past favourite!).
What do you love most about working in the wedding industry?
That every wedding is different and truly personal to the couple. It’s always wonderful getting to know the bride and groom and seeing their family glow with pride and love.
What question do you get asked most by couples?
“How much glitter do you bring?” Don’t fret, we always have enough!
What wedding trends have you noticed recently?
A lot more DIY solutions – brides making things themselves and experimenting with boho options. We love it!
Do you have any tips for couples looking to save money on their wedding?
Always do your research.
What should couples bear in mind when contacting you about their wedding?
How many people they have so we can prepare our artists and materials, as well as timings, when do you think your guests will want to be glitter’d up? We always recommend somewhere nice and close to the dancefloor.
Anything you’d like to add?
It’s never too early to book your wedding suppliers. Get your 2020/2021 date pencilled in before it’s too late.
